Agratas is energising the next generation with visits to local schools in Somerset

Agratas team members recently spent time with pupils at Woolavington Village Primary School and Puriton Primary School, both located near our Somerset site.

Local children were introduced to the exciting work behind constructing our UK battery manufacturing facility. They also learnt about why it’s important to stay safe when near or on construction sites, what construction and civil engineering industries involve, and the exciting career opportunities that could be open to them in the future.

Nick Cooper, Community Engagement Manager at Agratas, and Kass Olivier, Construction Site Safety Manager at Agratas were joined by Kerry Cruden, Social Value Manager at Sir Robert McAlpine. They enjoyed their time at both schools and presented each school with a toy hamper for their Christmas fundraising raffles.

They also launched a drawing competition for pupils from each school to design a mural for our Somerset site. The winning artwork will be displayed at the site entrance in the new year.

Nick Cooper, said:
"I enjoyed visiting both schools and meeting the pupils. These visits are great opportunities to educate children on what we're doing in Somerset, close to where they live, and how our project will impact them now and in the future. I'm excited to see all the entries for the mural design competition and am looking forward to displaying the artwork at our Somerset site soon."
